Much of the work and research done for
Nonspheres IV has been based on the social and cultural systems surrounding Soviet influence and the Cold War. The video used in the exhibition includes footage taken at Teufelsberg, a former listening station built by the US National Security Agency near Berlin. Both
Post Listening and
Teufelsberg Sessions Vol.I were recorded in Teufelsberg.

Originally from Scotland, musician and artist
Dirk Markham now lives in Berlin where, when he is not doing his own sounds, he works for the record label monika enterprise. Dirk first visited the former CIA listening post on Teufelsberg, Grünewald, in 2004 where together with Duncan Magreggor and Dan Gorman from Edinburgh's Forest collective they made audio recordings in the main acoustic dome. Since then the "3Ds" have been engaged in a remix project using the sounds captured at Teufelsberg under the working title
Post Listening. Dirk will do a sound-art performance manipulating and remixing live those recordings at the Nonspheres IV finissage. For more information please visit

Teufelsberg Sessions Vol. I was recorded by
† (Night Veins) in the spring of 2007 at the abandoned listening stations on Teufelsberg in West Berlin. The album will be released online this month by Faux Fetus.
Teufelsberg Sessions Vol. I will be presented during the finissage, following Dirk Markham's performance. (please note this is not a live performance). For more information please visit
